Start with your acknowledgement

Find the receipt from the exact request you want to track. Depending on the service, it may show an enrolment ID, update request number or service request number. Keep the full reference, including any date and time printed with it.

Open myAadhaar yourself and select the relevant status service. Enter the reference in the format requested on that screen. A bank-payment reference is not automatically the same as an Aadhaar request reference.

Read the result before taking action

  • Submitted or in process: save the reference and check again later. This does not yet confirm that your new details are active.
  • Completed or approved: download a fresh e-Aadhaar where appropriate and compare the changed details.
  • Rejected: save the reason and work out what must be corrected before applying again.
  • No matching request: recheck the service, every digit, and the date or time if requested.

Keep a short private note of the submission date and the latest result. If you ask for help later, this is more useful than trying to remember several attempts.

How long should you wait?

UIDAI’s guidance allows up to 90 days for an update and directs people with older pending requests to its support service. Avoid treating a friend’s quicker result as a promise for your application. UIDAI update-status guidance

For a stalled request, contact UIDAI on 1947 or use the grievance route linked from its website. Explain which field you updated, when you submitted it, the current status and the relevant reference. Provide private details only through the official support channel.

If your request was rejected

Compare the submitted text with the supporting document, especially spelling, address lines and document type. Check that the image is complete and legible. If the reason is unclear, get clarification before paying for repeated submissions.

Our site can explain these steps but cannot look up your application. Do not put a request receipt, Aadhaar number or OTP into a public comment, search query or social-media post.
